A poem about impossible particles

A poem I composed a decade ago just popped into my head. It’s about anyons, strange particle like things that could help us build a quantum computer. I’m not sure if I ever actually wrote it down. So here it is, for the first time.

The anyon, an exotic excitation,

It’s braiding and its fusion process quantum information,

And, above all, it is decoherence free:

It suppresses local errors topologically.

If you’d like to know more about the time I forced some anyons into existence and played around with them, see

Or alternatively this bunch of other articles I spammed Medium with in the past.
